Position Overview:
This position has development and maintenance responsibility for a broad variety of software applications that support the Investments Operations and Enterprise Data Management groups. Focus will be on the software programs, databases, and processes associated with the ingestion, mastering, and delivery of Position and Transaction data vital to the firm’s business. The Engineer will work closely with other IT team members of varying disciplines and our internal business partners to meet stated objectives. The ideal candidate would have experience with full-stack software development, financial systems, and prior experience working in an asset management firm with hands-on experience in investment operations and portfolio accounting data. The successful candidate is a motivated self-starter with an aptitude for learning new skills and environments quickly while multi-tasking on multiple deliverables.
Acadian supports a hybrid work environment, with employees on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.
What You’ll Do:
• Individual contributor with some level of proven leadership
• Work on an agile delivery team to enhance and support software applications as well as create new ones
• Perform code reviews and approvals
• Multi-tasks, capable of balancing several highly visible issues
• Serves as the subject matter expert on one or more applications/platforms
• Understands multiple business workflows and identify opportunities to advance capabilities, gain efficiencies, reduce risk
• This person may have a specialized skillset or role
• Work with investment middle office data and the processing of that data including portfolio accounting and transaction data
• Build, enhance and maintain custom data interfaces and full stack applications using cloud-native technologies
• Some on-call support responsibilities
We’re Looking for Teammates With:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, MS or advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 to 6 years of experience
• Ability to work independently with limited oversight
• Strong knowledge of multiple programming languages including C# and Python
• Experience working with Financial Services datasets, specifically portfolio accounting data
• Experience building cloud native applications, preferably AWS using a variety of available services
• Experience designing and implementing cloud native relational and non-relational database technologies (Aurora, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, DynamoDB, etc.)
